About

Built for construction. Not adapted for it.

Dynamic Executive Search is a construction-exclusive search firm. No generalist bench, no side practices. Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, and Project Executives, placed across the Intermountain West and Southwest.

Sheet A-002Who we are

A search firm built around one standard: know the work, know the people.

Dynamic Executive Search is a construction-exclusive search firm based in Salt Lake City, serving contractors and construction leaders across the Intermountain West and Southwest. The firm works one industry, which means every search is grounded in real, firsthand knowledge of how construction actually runs. Not a generalist playbook borrowed from tech or healthcare recruiting and awkwardly applied to a jobsite.

That focus shapes how the work gets done. Conversations happen practitioner to practitioner. When we talk to a Superintendent about a role, we're talking about schedule, safety, means and methods, and what actually makes a project run well, not just matching keywords on a resume against a job description.

The network is built the same way. Most of the strongest people in this market aren't posting their resume anywhere. They're on a jobsite, running a good project, and they only hear about a real opportunity because someone in the industry brought it to them directly. That's the role Dynamic Executive Search plays, on both the client side and the candidate side, on contingency and collaborative searches alike.

Sheet A-002BNote from the owner

"I started Dynamic Executive Search because construction hiring deserves someone who's actually in the industry, not adjacent to it. Every conversation I have keeps that in mind, whether it's a GC filling a role or a Superintendent figuring out what's next for their career."

Zach Motzkus, Owner & Founder, Dynamic Executive Search

Sheet A-003What we do

Three things a job posting can't do

A posting reaches whoever happens to be looking that week. It can't start a conversation with someone who isn't, and it can't tell a client anything about fit beyond a resume. That's the gap this firm fills.

Reach who isn't looking

Most of the strongest Superintendents and PMs in this market aren't checking job boards. They're identified, engaged, and vetted directly, one real conversation at a time.

Stay quiet until it's time

A candidate exploring options doesn't want their name floating around the industry before they're ready. A client filling a sensitive role doesn't want it public early either. Discretion is the default here, not an upgrade you have to ask for.

Know the difference

Years spent talking with Superintendents and PMs about what makes a job site run well means knowing which lines on a resume actually matter and which ones are just noise.

How a search actually runs

No black box. Here's what happens between the first call and a signed offer.

01

Discovery call

A real conversation about the role, the team, the project pipeline, and what "good fit" actually means for this specific seat. Not a generic intake form.

02

Targeted outreach

Direct engagement with passive candidates who match, sourced from an existing network built over years in this market. Not a mass blast to a purchased list.

03

Vetting and shortlist

Real screening conversations happen before anyone reaches a client's desk. A shortlist here means every name on it is genuinely worth an interview.

04

Interviews and offer support

Coordinated scheduling, honest feedback in both directions, and support through offer and negotiation, so nothing falls apart in the final stretch.
